Hosts and defending champions China begin their campaign for a record-extending 14th title when they face Algeria on the opening day of the TotalEnergies BWF Sudirman Cup Finals 2025 on Sunday 27 April.
The Sudirman Cup for the BWF World Mixed Team Championships will be held in Xiamen from 27 April to 4 May 2025.
China, who have won the last three editions, are up against the African champions in their Group A encounter, which is slotted for the second session beginning 5pm.

The opening day will see six ties on three courts, held over two sessions. Korea, the only team to have disrupted China’s winning streak in the last two decades by winning the title in 2017, will feature in the opening session starting 9.30am when they take on Czechia.
The other two ties in the opening session will see Chinese Taipei against Pan Am champions Canada (Group B), and Thailand against Hong Kong China (Group A).
Apart from the China-Algeria tie, the second session of the opening day will feature twice runners-up Denmark versus India, and 1989 champions Indonesia versus England, both in Group D. Indonesia are the only team apart from China and Korea to win the Sudirman Cup, having won the trophy in its inaugural year.
Other Asian powerhouses Malaysia and Japan start their campaigns on the second day, with Malaysia taking on rising European power France, and three-time runners-up Japan facing Australia, both in Group C.
The format for the championships consists of group play followed by the knockout stage. After the completion of group matches on Thursday 1 May, a knockout draw will be held for the quarterfinals, which are scheduled over two sessions the following day. Semifinals will be conducted over two sessions (Saturday 3 May), followed by the final on Sunday 4 May from 2pm.
